WILDERNESS STATION AT BARFIELD CRESCENT PARK

The Wilderness Station is a nature center, gift shop, and rental facility located in Barfield Crescent Park. It is also the headquarters of Outdoor Murfreesboro, a department of Murfreesboro Parks and Rec that specializes in environmental education and outdoor recreation!

Nature Center
The Wilderness Station is home to many education animals, including owls, a hawk, snakes, and more. Outdoor Murfreesboro also offers many educational programs at the Wilderness Station and on the surrounding trails.

There are also free educational backpacks for checkout. Each backpack has a different theme and includes specific learning material and programs surrounding the theme. The Wilderness Station is also home to several native education animals.
