July Jamboree: Summer Picnic set for July 22

Oaklands Mansion is excited to announce Saturday, July 22, as the date of its inaugural July Jamboree:Summer Picnic. The event features music by The Knott Brothers Band and spirits by Prichard's Distillery.

The Summer Picnic Party will be held at 6:30 pm on the grounds of the Oaklands Mansion and Oaklands Park, located at 900 North Maney Avenue in Murfreesboro.

"This is our first July Jamboree," said James Manning, Executive Director for the historic site that was once home to one of Murfreesboro's first families.

Although the event is a picnic, there will be plenty of picnic tables decorated with produce, summer flowers and green-and-white linens. Guests will be treated to Southern-fried chicken and catfish, cooked on site by Uncle Bud's and served with all the fixings.

Music on the veranda will be provided by Nashville's, The Knott Brothers Band. There will also be an open bar and Prichard's Distillery will offer tastings to patrons.

Tours of the mansion will be given to party-goers as well.

"We're excited to host our community on the grounds of Oaklands Mansion and Oaklands Parl," Manning said. "It's going to be an exciting evening."

Tickets are $75 per person. Sponsorships start at $250. For tickets and sponsorships opportunities, call Oaklands at 615-893-0022 or visit
