Cannon County
Home to an award-winning Arts Center that features theatrical productions, dinner theaters, an annual craft show, and more. Be sure to visit Readyville Mill, where you can pick up stone-ground cornmeal and grits, jams, jellies, molasses and honey, and see five restored buildings: mill, granary, icehouse, miller’s cabin and the smokehouse. Cannon County is also home to Short Mountain Distillery (more on page 15), and a variety of antique shops.
Cumberland Caverns
The largest show cave in Tennessee features underground caverns, unique stone formations, a beautiful waterfall, and a three-quarter-ton crystal chandelier! Enjoy cave-made fudge while you learn about the saltpeter mine that was important during the War of 1812 and the Civil War. Cumberland Caverns is also home to the popular Bluegrass Underground monthly concert series.
