The Approaching Thunder at 11 a.m. – Join a ranger at the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce visitor center (3050 Medical Center Parkway, Murfreesboro, TN) and use the outdoor map to learn about the Stones River Campaign events that played out 161 years ago to the day.
Stones River Stories at 1 p.m. – Listen as a ranger tells the tale of a soldier or unit that fought in the Battle of Stones River. This 30-minute talk will take place in the field adjacent to the Stones River National Battlefield park’s visitor center.
Battlefield Walks at 2 p.m. – Explore part of the battlefield with a ranger and learn about the critical events that shaped the Battle of Stones River. Each day will feature a different location and phase of the battle.
All programs will begin at the visitor center. Some walks will require a short drive to the starting point.
