Power Together Women's March Tennessee 2020

On January 18, 2020, the anniversary of the Women’s March, our fourth annual mobilization will take place in Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee. Rutherford County is a vitally important area for progressive expansion in the state. There are roughly 700,000 “Rising American Electorate” – single women, young people and people of color – who are not registered to vote.

We have hosted the last three Power Together Women’s Marches in Nashville. For 2020 – a critical year for our vulnerable communities – we are changing things up, taking risks, and moving this event to a place where our visibility could really matter. We have included, and are now going beyond Nashville, to shift the culture towards more pro-people, pro-women values.

This Women's March Day of Action is the most relevant follow-up event to one of the largest demonstrations in history. There will be several advocacy opportunities, from attending advocacy workshop training - to knocking doors to register voters - to walking the neighborhoods to distribute census information.

There really is something for everyone: if you can't or don't want to March to the Doors, our event headquarters will provide our people with a place to gather and build power together with phonebanking, textbanking, writing postcards/letters to elected officials, participating in a digital march using social media, creating art together, and relational organizing activities! These are the actions that will propel our movements forward as we organize our voices, giving us the momentum we need to impact 2020.
