Take the family to a magical getaway – in town—at The Fountains at Gateway

One of the loveliest new developments in the county, the Fountains at Gateway is one of my family’s favorite little escapes. With lovely walkways, fun lawn games, delicious eateries, and delightful shops, it’s an entire atmosphere inviting guests to relax and stay awhile.

Dining al Fresco
Good food’s is my family’s main draw anywhere, and we loved the choices at the Fountains. When we have the kids with us, Burger Republic is an easy casual pick with quality choices from the made-to-order burgers, seasonal drafts, and tasty sides the kids love. We adore the patio with its pretty views of the fountains and lots of people watching.  For a romantic date night, there are few better spots than Steakhouse Five with its mezzanine glowing with party lights and fire pit, just right for making wine glasses sparkle. Looking for coffee, tea, a light breakfast, or just something snackable while you visit? Just Love Coffee West is a bright and inviting shop with indoor and outdoor seating.

Shopping
After we eat we’re ready to stroll by the pretty shops.  Homegrown Marketplace and The Boutique is an easy favorite with its lovely home accents, cool puzzles and games, adorable handmade stationary, and witty mugs.  Board and Brush offers enviable workshops in DIY wood and paint projects—lovely for date nights, girls nights, or whenever you’re ready to grow some creativity. I love the unique and gorgeous fashion pieces at  E. Allen’s incomparable flagship shop, and the handcrafted rings, bracelets and necklaces at Kneukraft Fine Jewelry Design

Of course all this shopping is perfect with something sweet in hand from the delicious wares at Nothing Bundt Cakes or the iconic Soda Shop. Choose from decadent seasonal ice cream creations or pick up a vintage-style soda in a glass bottle from the refrigerated shelves.

Relax the Fountains Way
When the weather’s warm, we enjoy lawn games on The Plaza on the turf across from the splash pad where our kids usually end up getting wet (whether or not we planned ahead and brought swimsuits). Corn hole is fun for all of us on the green, but you’ll also see plenty of toddlers just tumbling or big kids chasing each other. When the sun goes down the party lights come on around the walking paths, so we love a stroll to the art fountain and mural in Pocket Park.

Of course you don’t need a reason to come enjoy the relaxing views at the Fountain, but sometimes it’s nice to have an excuse! Keep up with the Fountains’ social media pages for seasonal events including outdoor movies, theater, live music, and Winterfest ice skating in the winter.
